Let's just put it this way, I'm a novice baker and I f'ed it up the first time. Maybe you want to buy enough ingredients for two and give it another shot if the first time doesn't work out. The thing with baking is there doesn't seem to be much room for improvisation (which is why i suck at it!). BUT, the other thing you could do, and everyone who knows me would gasp in horror, is buy some white cake mix and add some crushed strawberries to the mix then top it w/ the royal icing? just an idea? Yeah...it was pretty gross. I didn't post it though. If I make the recipe again, I'll post the failure next to (hopefully) the success. The final result looks really good!
